Our company, Community Builders is based out of Barrie and we have been a living wage employer for almost two years now. We filled out a living wage application back in February of 2017 and received an email stating that someone would be in touch but have not heard anything since. We were just wondering if we could re-open that application and see what the status is with that. The previous email was from Brandon Day ([email protected]). Community Builders is Simcoe County's leading Not-for-Profit Construction based Social Enterprise. We provide training, employment, and affordable housing to meet the growing needs of our community's most vulnerable and at risk populations. Community Builders has two main divisions to serve our community's needs.
Our Builder Division builds custom homes, legal second suites and performs renovations of all types. While we pride ourselves in creating affordable housing we also love using our creativity and skill to build for our supporters and create more connections, employment opportunities and pathways for our people.
Our Community Division is always hard at work to create meaningful employment, hopeful housing and healthy communities. One of the ways we do this is through our Construction Trainee Program. We purposely hire folks with barriers to employment to teach and equip them with the construction and life skills they need for a prosperous career in the trades
